Things Change

(Inspired by the Miracle at Cana in John's Gospel , chapter 2)

When Jesus manifests His power and glory things change:

  • Water turns into the wine
  • Law becomes grace
  • Despair becomes hope
  • Unbelief becomes trust
  • Fear becomes faith
  • Darkness becomes light
  • Sorrow becomes joy
  • Mourning turns into dancing
  • Dry and barren deserts become fruitful gardens
  • The downcast become the uplifted
  • Broken people becomes whole people
  • Sickness and pain becomes healing
  • Bitterness becomes forgiveness
  • Stale and stagnant become fresh
  • Old becomes new
  • Dying becomes eternal life
  • Sinners becomes saints

May we walk in the manifest power and glory of the Lord this week.
May we see the Lord Jesus manifest His power and glory in our lives, in our families, in our churches, in our societies, in our nation, and in our world.
May the Lord bring about the changes we need in our lives. Amen.

Greater Works

John 14:12
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father."

Perhaps you are one who have wondered, "How can anyone do greater works than Jesus?" Maybe it would help to look at it this way:

"Greater works" - not in the sense that the miracles would be more spectacular, but greater in number, greater in reach, greater in the impact on the world. Jesus' ministry was local, but with His ascension and subsequent outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Church, greater works (not limited to simply miracles) have been done and continue be done in His name on a global scale. That is a greater work.
